Grilled Sausages

Servings 6-8
  • 24 Original Crisps
  • 3-4 cooked sausages and/or hot dogs (about 1 lb. total)
  • Toppings: sliced red onion, sauerkraut, barbecue sauce, ketchup, cornichons, mustard, pickle relish, and shredded cheese

Cook sausages according to package directions in a hot pan or over a grill. Slice each sausage thinly on the bias (diagonally) to make long slices.Arrange crisps on a serving platter. Top each crisp with a sausage, then add toppings to suit your fancy! Alternatively, assemble a large platter with crisps, sausage slices and small bowls of toppings and allow each guest to assemble their own innovative concoctions!

Remember that all sausages and hot dogs are definitely not equal — try to find some amazing locally-made artisanal sausage at your grocery store or farmer’s market. Really good sausages and hot dogs aren’t made from cheap fillers and unnatural additives and the taste of good-quality sausages and hot dogs is worlds apart from industrial store brands.

This makes a super-fun meal for a kids’ gathering — host the party outside to keep mess to a minimum and let kids make their own fun creations!

Serve with ice-cold beer (adults only, of course!)
