Camembert, Pear & Bacon
- 24 Original Crisps
- 1 small wheel artisanal Camembert (about 5 oz.), at room temperature, sliced
- 1 ripe pear, such as Bosc or d’Anjou, cored and sliced
- 6 strips good-quality bacon, cooked, drained and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- Cracked pepper to garnish
Arrange natural crisps on a serving platter. Place a slice of Camembert on each crisp, then top with a slice of ripe pear. Finish with a few pieces of bacon and a grind of fresh pepper. Serve immediately.
This effortless recipe combines rich, creamy cheese with tangy, fresh pear and salty bacon atop the perfect crunch of the crisps. Keep in mind that all cheeses are best served at room temperature instead of refrigerator-cold, so take your cheese out of the fridge about forty-five minutes before you plan to serve it. A light drizzle of good balsamic syrup would finish this off beautifully.
